Simon is a founding Partner of HN Consulting (HN) with over 28 years of industry experience. Launched in 2012, HN is an independent management consultancy specializing in travel & expense management.

 

Simon has held senior leadership positions within global travel management companies based in EMEA and Asia-Pacific and gained valuable experience of supporting numerous global travel programs across multiple industries. In 2000 Simon joined a major global banking & financial services company (Morgan Stanley) accountable for Travel and Procurement. Simon successfully developed the travel program acrossn Asia-Pacific, consolidating suppliers, establishing management reporting, governance, controls & risk management and optimized service (e.g. offshored low risk online and email booking fulfilment to a low-cost central service centre) and delivered significant savings. Simon has practical hands on experience working from the perspectives of the supplier and the buyer and can leverage this to deliver value.

Simon has been working with multi business conglomerates to optimize value from cross leveraging consolidated spend as well as firms from the consulting, hospitality, property and banking industries. He has managed process reengineering projects, several recent RFP’s and negotiations with airlines, hotels and travel management companies and currently advises a number of global and regional travel managers to help them develop program strategy, overcome roadblocks and optimize their programs.

 

Born in the UK, Simon studied civil engineering, is a former professional rugby player and started in travel with CWT in EMEA before moving to Japan in 1996 tasked with reengineering acquisitions that CWT had made in Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore.
